I Was Wrong

My god, the Clintons really must be the biggest group of scumbags I've seen in a long time...

From their campaign manager:

Enough.

If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.

This is nothing more than an obvious and transparent attempt to distract from the serious issues confronting our country today and to attempt to create the very divisions they claim to decry.

We will not be distracted.

I'm glad your back to your senses. For a minute I thought that you had boughten into the Clinton's new approach of instilling buyers remorse with Obama.

As I have written before, either democratic administration will significantly change the political landscape and re-prioritize a number of things (assuming a democratic majority in Congress). Obama, however, bring something else. Albeit less tangible, he brings with him an opportunity to redefine and re-evaluate the American character. The people of this country seem to desire to think of themselves in a new way outside of any specific policy.

The change Obama is selling is not significant change in policy but a change in how we see ourselves and the world. A fundamental re-evaluation of of who we are as a culture.

Which ties into his self empowerment message as well. It is such a coherent, powerful, and dare I say beautiful theme.

In fairness, I am not yet sold on Obama. Honestly, I'm looking forward to having to make a decision.

But this little stunt, in addition to listening to her crow on Saturday just really made me nuts.

Can you imagine having to listen to her for the next four years?

I'm troubled because, in my heart, I know she is right that she's more qualified on Day 1.

My outstanding question is whether or not it matters.

On day 1, come on. Does Obama have something going on where he won't be able to make it on Jan 20th?

"Sorry guys, I got plans, I'll be back from Barbados next week. Is that cool?"
In what ways is she ready on day 1. Obama has served as an elected official longer than she has, has proposed and gotten passed almost as many things as she has. Seems to better understand the world in which we live, has a more holistic agenda, is more respected by other world leaders [see Putin's comments on Hillary], has better judgement (see Hillary's vote to authorize the war in Iraq),and is much more likely to effectively 'reach across the aisle.'

I just don't get how Hillary is more ready on day 1. He seems to be a in little bit better shape, if anything. To imply that he isn't, implies that he is not ready, which I think is complete BS.

The only thing she has over him is that she slept with a president. In that case we should have elected Marlyn Monroe.

Its old school vs. new school:
Your old road is rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand.

Ha. This is silly season. To think that one of my biggest supporters, who gave me the joke, somehow didn't want me to use it is silly.
