Joe Lieberman is set to endorse McCain for prez.This was not entirely unpredictable. They're both war and spending hawks, but backing someone cut from Hillary's idealogical cloth wouldn't have been a completely-outlandish move on the CT Junior Senator's part.
Why didn't he, you ask?
In 2006 and he was up for re-election, the establishment Democrats, like Hillary, were anything but helpful in keeping him in office. They backed Ned Lamont, the Moveon candidate.
