"I Told You Not to Be Stupid, You Moron!"

Those words, famous to listeners of the Howard Stern show, are from the host's father, Ben, in a tape played often on the show. Ben Stern tape recorded a family get-together when he quizzed his children on, among other things, whether America should remain a part of the United Nations.

Howard, you see, had an older sister and his father thought he was being...stupid.

Well, it turns out that it might not be his fault!

There's a widely-circulating new publication in the social sciences saying that even when you control for a host of other factors, first-born chilren still retain a small but significant (insert another Howard double-entendre) edge when it comes to intelligence.

This holds no real utility for parents raising their children because intra-group variance far exceeds inter-group variance, but it still makes for interesting discussion.
