Hotline On Call seems to be throwing around the earliest hard reporting on the first quarter fundraising prowess of the announced Presidential hopefuls.
While I guess every candidate is interesting in their own way, one of the biggest questions on folks' minds was how Hillary and Barack would slice up the pie.
And the winner is...
HRC raised a total of $26M from donors during 2007Q1 while adding $11M from her Senate war chest to the Prez campaign. Barack Obama hauled in $22M, which is nothing to sneeze at.
Given how easily information is stored on donors, and how much candidates like to brag about their percentage of small money donors (for street cred, yo!), I'm very interested to see someone take the time to do some analyses that compare the candidates on:
- A frequency count on donation size
- What percentage of donors were the only contributors to the campaign in their household
- How monogamous are your contributors? How many are hedging by giving to > 1 campaign?
