Live by The Law...

I'm no defender of whatever it is Eliot Spitzer did in his personal life. It seems pretty rotten and the guy seemed pretty due for a little comeuppance.

But I do have to say that I found this article by former Congressman Bob Barr to be very disheartening.

He lays out a case that Spitzer was busted for getting his freak on with a hooker because of reporting required by the USA PATRIOT Act.

All praise to Allah.

I think I am going to barf the next time I hear W or one of the other jackals in Washington tell me that the PATRIOT Act is to be used solely to save me from the "evildoers." My sphincter starts to tighten when I'm told to trust my government and that they'll only use the provisions covered when they believe the towel heads are up to no good.

>> On a side note, I guess old Bob is thinking very hard about running for President under the Libertarian banner. Now that would be very cool to see and his might just be a candidacy I could get excited about.

I Quote Chris Rock

I'm not one to condone breaking the marriage vows.

It just doesn't seem wise.

That said...I find the Junior Senator from Michigan, Debbie Stabenow, to be one of the most annoying, vapid members of that hallowed body.

It's not exactly a huge shock that her husband decided to mess around on the side.

He got caught the other day in suburban Detroit.

But, in a nod to that WWW thing...it turns out the hooker had a Myspace page.

Nice!

Well, my reaction to this reminded me of Chris Rock's old 'I don't condone what OJ did...but I understand.'

There's a boatload of potty mouth language in this so listen only if prepped...

More Hard Hitting Journalism from the Cleveland Plain Dealer

In light of the Spitzer story, the Cleveland Plain Dealer took a week or so to come up with a piece on how much it costs to get a piece in Northeast Ohio.

Here's some of the shocking information that only their gifted investigators could dig up:

  • Getting a callgirl can cost a few thousand bucks for a night.
  • Some of them operate out near Hopkins Airport.
  • Many of the girls have 'regular' financial situations, using the money to help raise their kids and pay their mortgages.
  • Many of the girls profess actual affection for their customers, some of whose spouses know about their men's dalliances.

I suspect that this article was only the warmup to future Geraldo-like whoppers that will uncover gambling in Vegas and praying going on in churches.
