I Have Probably Posted This Before, But It Deserves a Replay

But here's a little remix of one of the best scenes from the most recent Curb.

I Brings the Ruckus...

The Race Card

Two video shorts I've posted here recently have prominent mentions in a Times article this morning on the increased frequency of race-based humor in network and cable sitcoms.

I concur and applaud this development.

Curb Your Enthusiasm, which had the Black family move in with Larry and Cheryl, as well as 30 Rock, have both crossed lines unthinkable a few years back this year when it comes to making racial stereotypes the butt of jokes.

The paper correctly notes that the theme running through the gags almost invariably has to do with white uncomfortability with racial stereotypes, but you have to start somewhere.

Kudos to these shows, though, for pushing the envelope. The taboo around including all ethnic groups in the humour pool is, in my opinion, more demeaning than respectful and this is a sign of progress.

The Season Finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm

I had no clue when I was watching the episode last night that it was the season finale.

What a bummer because it was so damned funny!

Well, the scene with Larry feigning retardation in this episode honestly had me covering my eyes and laughing at the same time, but I am glad that LD hooked up with Ms. Black.

We can only hope that they brings the ruckus back back next season.

I'm stuck show-less now and might get a chance to catch up on some reading.

For now, don't me a Mopey Dick. Enjoy this little compilation from the finale that I came across.

Larry David....Ass Man Extraordinaire

This is one of the funniest sequences ever on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Here's hoping the season is already written now that the writers seem to really be digging in on the strike.

Curb Your Mouth, Laurie

Moderates and lefties like to talk about the moral high horse folks on the right tend to ride when it comes to things like abortion, marriage, prayer in school and other traditional social issues.

And to a large degree, they're right. There's nothing more annoying than listening to someone else strike a, "if you were only smarter, you'd live your life like I live mine" attitude.

Enter Laurie David, wife of TV god, Larry David.

This know-it-all has been shooting her mouth off for years on the topic of environmentalism and all its related causes and is now trotting around the country with Sheryl Crow touting it to college kids. One of their latest suggestions is limiting toilet paper use to one square...unless it's a big job. Perhaps after a bit of tofu that absorbed too much recycled peanut oil?

I have no beef (not even sure if she's a vegan?) with her promoting earth-friendly behaviors, but there's something about her attitude that I find really unbearable.

Hopefully Larry does, too, and needs some time away from her nonstop mouth so he puts more work into another season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
