Eric Clapton Invited to Play in the DPRK

In glancing over Eric Clapton's Wiki entry, I found something that I missed in the newspapers...Slowhand has been invited by the Dear Leader to play in Pyongyang next year.

As you may be aware, the New York Philharmonic is over there now, but this would really be a great leap forward.

It's easy to read too much into things like this, but on the other hand it at least fails to be discouraging...which is more than we can say for the last 50 years over there on the peninsula.

Layla Speaks Out

There's a really cool article in London's Daily Mail today...a tell-all by Pattie Harrison, the woman about whom two of rock music's most recognizable songs were written.

Ms. Harrison was the wife of Beatle George Harrison (who wrote Something about her) and then got Eric Clapton (who wrote Layla about her) down on his knees for her on the side .

She explains one of the most famous love triangles of modern times.  Definitely worth the read.
