Beatles Break Time

Just burning off some tunes for the week and came across a marvelous 17-disc compilation, The Ultimate Get Back Collection. I've no idea how someone got their paws on this studio material, but it's mindbending if you're into listening to The Beatles, horsing around, doing cut after cut of certain songs in ways that never made the album.

Anyway, I'm too lazy to make a slide show for you right now, so here's I've Got a Feeling from The Rooftop Performance.

The Beatles Perform Octopus's Garden

I haven't posted any music in a few days, so wanted to catch back up.

On the way home this evening, I listened to Abbey Road all the way through.

Damn. Does it get any better? As far as studio albums, I think not. Note for note, that may very well be the best piece of music ever put to vinyl.

It Was *40* Years Ago Today

...that the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in the United States.  (It had been released in the UK a day earlier).

People who don't appreciate the Fab Four should always be approached with caution.  They likely have other perversions, as well.

It's almost not worth blogging on what a mind-bend this album is, so let's just reflect, shall we, on this gift to the world.
