A Dog's Got Personality. And Personality Goes a Long Way.

Barack comes through with the line of the day, off-handedly calling Governor Palin a pig with lipstick...and don't even tell me this was unintentional. Actually, now that I read this again, I don't know which metaphor was more vulgar...

Obama: 'Lipstick on a pig'

Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."

Doh!

The Hillary campaign made a funny blunder today. The thing is that only the people it's probably meant to impress or persuade are those likely to find its error.

The mailer you can see below seems to be some kind of mirror image of the real gun, making it appear to be a left-handed model. Something that does not exist in the real world, apparently.

Politico's Ben Smith gets the nod on this one.
