Hack Gets Hacked

Sorry, couldn't resist the subject line...I actually don't think that little Dennis Kucinich is that much of a hack.

But the other day, after he introduced 35 articles of impeachment against W, his campaign website was hacked and taken down for a few hours.

Another Embarassment to Cleveland

There was a time when I saw Dennis Kucinich's quixotic run for the Presidency as something charming.

No reasonable person thought he had a snowball's chance in hell of winning, but he was getting an opportunity to bring other ideas to the floor and try and get some momentum out of it.

That time has passed and his continued presence on the trail, in the courtroom and debates is nothing but an act of masturbation.

I don't think he should be legally banned from being on the ballots in the upcoming states. If he passed whatever local rules govern the primaries and caucuses, then let him in.

But getting the courts to intervene in the debate participant lists, and framing the argument in some kind of civil liberties sense is just downright dishonest.

On top of that, it continues to make his home district (which I do not live in) look like idiots. He better be careful or he might even lose his House seat this term.

Underreported Political Item of the Day

Yesterday, Cleveland's own Dennis Kucinich put out the word to his troops that if he does not survive the 15% threshhold in Iowa on Thursday, he would appreciate it if his supporters jump to the Obama camp.

The way the Dem side runs their show in Iowa, if candidates don't meet a 15% level of support within a caucus, their people are up for grabs again and can play for another team. (The Republicans, not known for public displays of playing for the other team, don't do it this way.)

So while, by definition, this cannot create massive change in the results, the race is tight enough that this could end up being materially-important for Barack.

Way to go, Dennis!

Cynthia McKinney for President!

Yes, folks, the nuttiest thing to come out of Georgia since the President who farmed them is thinking of making a run for the White House in 2008. Cynthia McKinney is floating her name around here and there.

This woman will make little Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel look like serious candidates.

God bless the woman for trying, but she is among the lowest kinds of race-baiting bigots out there and I anxiously await if and how the Democratic establishment (or the folks who do the General Election debates, if she forgoes her party and runs as an indy/third party candidate) treat her entrance into the debates. My money is on cries of racism within 5 minutes of being kept out.

Turn the lights down, the party just got wilder.
